Lis and Luke - Wedding
Wednesday, January 9, 2008
On Saturday, we had the most bizarre weather ever. But of course, rain is never a problem for wedding photos and in fact, it often makes great photos. And when the rain did finally stop, we had such a blast photographing Lis and Luke’s wedding. The whole bridal party was so easy to work with and they were up to anything we told them to do. I am glad that I got to second shoot this wonderful wedding of Lis and Luke with the super cool Jenny.
We started off at Lis’ house for the preparations:

Just a few finishing touches:

All ready to go!! Lis looks simply gorgeous. I grabbed this photo just seconds before we headed out to the church. And yes, she loves her dress.

And while the girls were all getting ready. the boys were waiting very anxiously at the church:

More recently, I found that a lot priests forget the very important symbolic part of the ceremony - the kiss! So quite rightly, Luke took a very good opportunity to kiss the bride - just as they were walking out of the church.

Of course, there’s always more to come….

Within seconds of this photo, it started bucketing down like there’s no tomorrow.

And all within 5 minutes, it stopped. The girls had tons of fun on the track:

The reception was at Dockside function centre. Love the center pieces:

Just a little side note to couples who are planning for their wedding. If you are thinking about how to decorate the reception, apart from all the details of the center pieces, you really can’t beat a professionally designed lighting package. It can really change the mood of the whole reception, creating a romantic ambience. And photos will turn out much better in good lights. But of course, a little artifical portable lights from the photographer will also help. Jenny brought a portable light source and I helped to hold the light up for this photo.
Obviously I didn’t take the photo, Jenny took this awesome cake photo.

This one was also taken by Jenny while I was holding the light up from the right:

Thank you for having me as part of your big day
