Madeleine & Patrick - Destination Wedding
Posted on July 1, 2008
When Madeleine and Patrick asked me to photograph their wedding in the nice small town of Tübingen in Germany, I knew I would have a great time. As it turns out, it was the most enjoyable wedding I’ve ever been to. The guests were incredibly nice to me and everyone went out of their way make sure to make sure I had a good time. People came from all over Europe to this wedding.
It’s always fun photographing weddings outside of Sydney. Here’s a few shots of my take on Tübingen:
The preparation was just so much fun…
Dress was designed by the famous SiÖdam Couture:
I love this photo for some reason. Maybe it’s the very sentimental gift that Madeleine was wearing:
Madeleine lives just right next to a farm house so we decided to pay a visit before we went off to the church.

Although the ceremony was held in Dutch and German and that I understood none of it, it was still very touching for me, and Madeleine & Patrick were so sweet during the ceremony:
Tübingen resides a number of famous Germans including Pope Benedict XVI. We managed to get access to the garden where poet Friedrich Hölderlin once lived in.
We had a little too much time and the girls decided to do some girly things - shopping for chocolate:
We then realised that we were running a little late to the reception:
“Private function, sorry for the inconvenience” (how German is this):
I’ve always wanted to try the idea of a photo booth at weddings. Particularly after a few drinks, people do get a little crazy. Patrick suggested a little fun with a photo frame.

A big thank you for Anne-Marie for looking after me throughout the wedding.
